Our abuelas said it before every plan.
“Primero Dios” means God willing, and it puts God first. We named the business after it because that’s the order we try to live in.
The matcha comes from Japan, stone-ground from shade-grown tea leaves. We sift it, whisk it with water just under a boil, and pour it over cold milk. No powder mixes, no syrups standing in for the tea.
Some drinks lean on the flavors we grew up with, like horchata and fresh strawberries. Others are made for after the gym.
How every cup is made

Sift
Two grams of matcha go through a fine sieve so there are no clumps.

Add water
A splash of water at 175°F. Boiling water turns matcha bitter.

Whisk
A bamboo whisk moves in a quick W shape for about 20 seconds, until a fine foam forms.

Pour
The matcha goes over milk and ice, and the cup goes straight to you.

What does “Primero Dios” mean?
It’s a Spanish phrase that means “God willing,” and literally “God first.” We named the business after it because that’s the order we try to live in: God first, then everything else, including matcha.

Do you have dairy-free matcha lattes?
Yes. Any drink can be made with oat or almond milk at no extra cost. The Coconut cloud and Straight usucha are dairy-free as listed.
How much caffeine is in a matcha latte?
Each drink uses about two grams of matcha, which has roughly 60 to 70 mg of caffeine. That’s less than a typical cup of drip coffee.
